Cero Cinco-Cero Cinco-Cero Cinco

Tonight John and I joined the masses celebrating the 1862 Battle of Puebla, better known as Cinco de Mayo, the Mexican defeat over the French in Puebla.

W-h-a-a-a-a-t??? Americanized, this holiday is a celebration of Mexican food, booze, music and more food! Our evening plans called for joining the city’s Cinco de Mayo celebration on Market Square Mall. When rain kicked in, 30 minutes before showtime, city officials became nervous and canceled the outside celebration.

On to plan B. We opted for a 45 minute wait at El Charro for a mediocre meal without a hint of Mariachi music. Hmmmm, what kind of Mexican celebration is this?? Oh well, Happy Cinco de Mayo to all!
