61 and counting…

I turned 61 on Monday and am amazed at how fast I got here.  At one time I considered  60 old, but these days I look at the 60’s with a different perspective.  By my doctor’s account I am healthy, my knees can still withstand a good run, I am at an average weight, in a good marriage and I love the life I live. Do I still have some of the same insecurities and emotional ups and downs that I had at 20?  You bet, but I have become kinder and gentler with myself.  There are some things that just aren’t going to change and these are the things that make me, well, me.

While I would like to say I feel like I did when I was 40, that just isn’t true.  To be honest, I don’t remember how it feels to be 40.  I do know that 61 feels pretty darn good and I am counting on 62 to feel the same.  I still have a number of  things to do on my bucket list and many of them demand a healthy, active me.  So here’s to another year of the good life, bring on the 60’s!

  1. Happy Belated Birthday Beverly! It’s not the years in your life, but the life in your years…and you demonstrate that a healthy, active lifestyle is the best present one can gift themselves with!

Belated Happy Birthday. I turned 61 in May also.
