Getting “it” back…

Weather has been great this week, an early spring of sorts.  I would give the groundhog credit for getting it right but the temperature is dropping to the low 30’s tonight and the same tomorrow night.

As a result of the favorable weather and my focus on hiking, I am running again.  The increased  activity has me thinking about where I was last year at this time and where I am today and I must say, I have a lot of work to do to get “it” back!  (Smithposts… defines “It”  as that level of fitness, endurance, focus that one needs to go the distance on a run or hike.)

Overall, I am pleased with this week’s effort.  My runs were 4 miles each and the only real problem has been with my feet and ankles, they hurt. I rest 48 hours between each run and tape my feet during the run but I think this is really a matter of time and effort.  I have a backpack coming up quickly, my first in several months. I will pack my tape, wear my boot liners and hope my feet hold up for 10 miles in the mountains.
