We have been eagerly anticipating the arrival “Monster-in-Law” after weeks of watching movie teasers on TV. In preparation for attending opening night, both of us hit the internet to read websites full of reviews. Our afternoon phone chat revealed that neither of us could find much positive about the film. Nevertheless, we put on brave movie faces in hopes of a few good laughs.
And laugh we did. Michael Vartan and Jennifer Lopez are mere props for Jane Fonda and Wanda Sykes to showcase their comedy talent. We laughed over and over at the silly slapstick comedy. And our advice to Jennifer Lopez…give up any attempts at acting ever again!
While this film is a long, long way from Academy material, we are glad we didn’t pass.
