We had a great Sierra Club annual planning meeting. Lots of discussion on membership and issues, lots of conversation and social time.

My chili (on the lunch menu) went over well. About one bowl’s worth was left in the bottom by the end of the meeting. Of course Barbara’s vegetarian chili was the hit of the afternoon. I looked in her slow cooker after lunch and it looked like someone has licked the ceramic liner clean. I am always in awe (envious) of Barbara’s culinary skills. I don’t think my edited William Sonoma recipe is the “perfect” chili recipe after all.

Hour 4 and we are participating in a facilitated session on “Engaging Our Members.” The facilitator is Ron Harmon, a professor at UT’s College of Communications. He will be starting a new show on radio WNOX on Wednesday nights, 7:00 pm, titled “Left Turn.” We are looking forward to some interesting left leaning commentary and discussions in our very right leaning city. From left, Kelly, Ron S., David, Ron Harmon our facilitator, Priscilla, Axel (leaning against the wall, Ray (blurry head), Steve and Will (closest to the camera).

One can get distracted from tasks at hand if looking out the window at David and Willa’s home. Beaver Creek and nearby woods cause my mind to drift to the outside.
