This is the view from my car windshield as I waited to get through a light on Gay Street Bridge, a two lane bridge recently re-laned to three. Took me 4 lights to get through this stoplight. A bicycle that pulled out of my neighborhood at the same time I did, beat me downtown. Problem, the 3 year dismantle and reconstruction of the Henley Street Bridge. Who would have thought Gay Street would become the main connector between south and everywhere else? I did….but I keep forgetting.
This is the view from my car windshield some 30 minutes later on Kingston Pike around Western Plaza, another major roadway, another major construction project, a five lane highway reduced to two.
I know these projects will eventually come to an end but until then, I need to remember go around them because going through them certainly makes for a frustrating afternoon!
