Running in the Neighborhood

Nice run in the neighborhood today ’cause it’s a really nice day! I tossed out the idea of achieving goals and decided to just run. Began with my usual loop and ended up adding loops to my loop by adding on side streets and choosing different directions. While not at peak, so many flowers and trees are in bloom and I loved rounding a curve and landing in the midst of a sweet flower fragrance.

I ran on roads I am familiar and comfortable on and explored a neighborhood new to me. The route is mostly rolling hills but I enjoyed the up and down challenge (this doesn’t happen too often). When I arrived home, I checked my watch and discovered that I had run 1.01.05. For me, this is probably a little over 5 miles. It was such an effortless and enjoyable run. I will remember it for a while!

The downside to spring blooms is the POLLEN! During the past several days, I have noticed an increase in sniffling and a slight sore throat. Spent about 15 minutes with the Dr today in an effort to head off my usual spring sinus problems. Hopefully the latest, greatest allergy meds with keep me on my feet this year.

Run: 5.2 miles (estimate), 1.01.05, 11.77mmp
Core: 15 minutes
